Best Valentines Gifts for Men

Are you wondering what the best Valentine's Day gifts for men are? There are certainly a lot of items to choose from!

It is no secret that men and women look at Valentine's Day and the gifts that go with it differently. It is a good time to remember that romance is in the eyes, and heart, of the beholder. Choosing a gift for a man is difficult for many women. Is it going to send the message she wants to send? Will he read too little or too much into it?

Remember that men think differently than women and tend to look at the face value of things. If you give him a Die Hard DVD for Valentine's Day he probably won't be wondering if you did it because you want to see a little more Bruce Willis. He will accept that you bought it because he lost that DVD and you knew it was his favorite. Rule number one is don't over think the gift.

Another important aspect of good gift giving is understanding your significant other's love language. Some men might prefer a gift of time, like a weekend away for the two of you. Others might like a couple of coupons for car washes, back rubs, or other services. It just depends on your man; try to keep his personality in mind.

5 Best Valentine's Day Gifts for Men

Here are the 5 best Valentine's Day gifts for men. One may be more appropriate than another depending on the relationship. Obviously if you have been married for a few years you might give a different gift than if you have been dating for a month.

A Weekend for the Two of You

Whether you go to a hotel or send the kids off to grandma's and stay home, many men will appreciate a weekend of your undivided attention. The hardest thing about this gift is to keep it man-friendly. Your man is not looking for a romantic bed and breakfast or sightseeing trip. Choose a hotel with the sports channel, possibly in an area where he can indulge in his favorite activities. If he loves to fish make sure that there is a lake nearby, if he prefers skiing keep that in mind. You probably won't need many clothes for this trip, either.

If you are staying home? Consider a cute outfit that you wouldn't normally be able to wear around the kids. This might be time to pull out that French maid outfit.

A Handheld Organizer

Guys like gadgets and most of them really need an organizer. Choose one of these cool little hunks of technology that has the coolest features on it. Program in your special dates such as anniversaries and birthdays. Add a few unexpected celebrations and he will be a happy man.

DVDs

Guys like movies. If it explodes, splatters blood, or makes them laugh hysterically at crude adolescent humor then you have a winner. Tuck a few of his favorite DVD's in a popcorn bowl with some packages of microwave popcorn and the promise to sit through all of the Die Hard movies with him.

Some of the best guy movies? Anything with high tension and adrenalin rushes.

  • Die Hard
  • Terminator
  • Platoon
  • Full Metal Jacket
  • Highlander
  • Speed

Magazine Subscription

Whether he likes Sports Illustrated or Forbes, most men prefer magazines subscriptions over books. Choose his favorite magazine and get him a subscription to it. If he is a real techno-freak consider getting him a Kindle and a subscription to the e-version of the magazine if it is available.

Tickets to an Event

Make it a gun show, a car show, or a basketball game, tickets to his favorite event will almost always go over well for any guy at any level of relationship. Be prepared to go along and be enthusiastic. You totally ruin the gift if you are bored and sullen.

More Valentine's Day Gift Ideas

If you haven't seen quite what you like consider the following gift ideas.

  • Cologne
  • Body wash (and maybe the offer to scrub his back)
  • Official team clothing (hoodie, sweatshirt, etc.)
  • Gym membership
  • Watch
  • Gloves
  • Chocolate (of course)
  • Absolutely useless but cool gadgets
  • Make a batch of his favorite cookies

The best Valentine's Day gifts for men are those that come straight from your heart and show that you are thinking of him.

Even though I just showered my hubby with gifts for Christmas, it's never too early to plan the next way to express love.

Excellent suggestions! Helpful too! I would have never thought of an organizer as I seem to be my husbands own personal organizer, which irritates me, so I think I may use your suggestion this year-and hope it works! ;-) Gret hub - Thanks!
