Easter Crafts
69Now is the time to begin your Easter crafts. With Valentine’s Day over there is almost no time at all before Easter is here. Whether you want to do some special kids’ crafts or make your own Easter decorations the sooner you get started the less stress you will have in getting your project finished.
Easter crafts sell well at spring church bazaars and other
activities that raise money. They make cute gifts for friends and most of all,
Easter crafts satisfy the crafter’s need to create something beautiful.Whether you chooseto make Psanky (Ukranian Easter Eggs) or a beautiful Easter cake you will be enriching your celebration by adding hand crafted items.
Easter Crosses
Crosses are the main symbol of Easter for most Christians. They can be made of a variety of different things and the motifs used in many different ways from pillows to wall hangings. Here are some ideas that use the cross motif:
Make a cross topiary by creating a cross with twigs and raffia. Use two twigs of approximately the same length for the vertical bar and two shorter ones for the horizontal bar. Lash them together with raffia and push into some soft potting soil. Plant ivy next to the cross and twine it around the vines, securing gently with soft string. You can train the vine to the cross for a beautiful Easter craft to give as a gift.
Create this symbolic Easter bracelet.
Making a crocheted cross bookmark is quick, easy, and a wonderful Easter craft.

Bunnies, Eggs, and Chick Crafts
Bunnies, eggs and chicks are a symbol of Easter that most people recognize. From the beautifully dyed eggs that are hidden on Easter morning to the sweet and gooey marshmallow Peeps, these symbols are a part of Easter celebration.

Although this isn’t a bunny or a chick it is very cute-
Fabric Crafts
In the spring most fabric stores have bolts and bolts of Easter themed fabric. You can use this fabric to make Easter crafts like:
- Hot pads
- Pillows
- Quilts
- Sewing Machine covers
- Chair covers
- Aprons
- Tote bags
The cutest items are usually made with at least two different fabrics. Keep the patterns in balance and make sure that your colors complement each other. Pastel gingham in a small pattern is usually a good choice for almost any other Easter novelty pattern.
Another cute Easter craft is an Easter Egg Fabric card from Martha Stewart’s website. These are simple and colorful; a great way to use up fabric scraps!
Crafting is addictive. When you get started it is hard to stop. Choose projects that you will enjoy making and that your friends and family will enjoy receiving. Keep plenty of craft supplies on hand so that when the desire to craft hits you can indulge it. Try to stay within your comfort zone and level of experience when it comes to Easter crafts, or any other craft. It is better to enjoy what you are doing and learn slowly than get frustrated because your project is too difficult.
