Homemade Soap Recipes

Making homemade soap is fun and it is easy to do. You can make it unique to your own skincare needs or create unique combinations of scents. When soap is homemade it has none of the chemicals and other impurities of soap that is made commercially. Best of all, it is a frugal gift that is welcome by most people.

Make up a variety of soaps now for gift giving later on. You can create soap gift baskets or make molded guest soaps for your own use. Use your imagination and your handmade soap is sure to be a hit with those you give it to.

You may want to adjust the scents up or down depending on your own preferences. The rule of thumb is a total of ¼ teaspoon to ½ teaspoon of fragrance per bar of soap.

This is a gentle exfoliating soap that smells fantastic.

• 1/3 cup whole almonds
• 1 (4 ounce) bar Castile soap
• 1/4 cup distilled water
• 1 tablespoon almond oil
• 5 drops vanilla fragrance oil
• 5 drops black cherry fragrance oil
• 10 drops almond fragrance oil

1. Grind the almonds in a food processor until they are a fine powder
2. Grate and melt the Castile
3. Bring the water to a boil and add the oil, fragrances, and almonds.
4. Stir into the melted Castile and spoon into a mold
5. Let set until completely hardened

A gentle cleaner for sensitive skin.

• 1 cup oatmeal
• 1 bar Castile or glycerin soap
• 1 tablespoon almond oil
• 10 drops brown sugar and fig fragrance oil

Grate and melt the Castile soap. Stir in the rest of the ingredients and spoon into a mold until set.

This is a great exfoliating soap that will also remove strong odors from your hands.

• 1/3 cup coffee beans, ground
• 1 bar Castile soap
• 1 tablespoon of almond oil
• 5 drops coffee fragrance
• 5 drops chocolate fragrance
• 5 drops vanilla fragrance

Grate and melt the soap. Stir in the rest of the ingredients and spoon into molds. Let set.

• 1/3 cup lavender buds
• 1 bar Castile soap
• 1 tablespoon of almond oil
• 10 drops of tea leaf and jasmine fragrance oil
• 5 drops of lavender essential oil
• 3 drops of Vanilla fragrance oil

Grate and melt the soap. Stir in the rest of the ingredients and spoon into molds. Let set.

Great scent for the guys. Warm and masculine.

• 1 bar Castile soap
• 1 tablespoon coconut oil
• 5 drops tobacco fragrance oil
• 2 drops vanilla fragrance oil
• 2 drops leather fragrance oil
• 1 drop clove essential oil
• 10 drops coffee fragrance oil

Grate and melt the soap. Stir in the rest of the ingredients and spoon into molds. Let set.

After the soap has hardened take it from the molds. Wrap it in tissue paper and tie it with raffia or ribbon. An afternoon of enjoyable crafting can give you gifts for year 'round giving.
